What: KIDS (Ages 5 - 10 and their guardians) Silk Painting Workshop
When: Sunday, June 1st, 10am-noon (1pm if we're having lots of fun!)
Where: stir, 216 Alaskan Way S , Seattle 98104
Cost: $55 (includes the lesson and all supplies)
Participants: 5 kids maximum (+ 1 guardian per kid = 10 people present. Please ONLY RSVP for your child with the understanding that one guardian will be present.)
Description: Silk painting is a fun and easy medium for all ages. I will teach each student how to paint a 22" square silk scarf from beginning to end. A variety of fun techniques will be discussed including the Salt Technique, and students will enjoy the fun metallics and shimmers available for accents. Everyone will bring home their finished scarf, and a handout for future reference.
The $55 covers all the materials for your child to make a scarf, which can make a great wall hanging or a gift for Mom! It also covers a juice box for your child and coffee/tea for yourself. Please do plan on a guardian coming, so you can help your child make something really special. Please sent your payment via Paypal to ella420 (at) hotmail (dot) com.
Notes:
I will throw another teens and adults class at a later date. This class is intended for children (ages 5-10) and their parents or other guardians. Thanks!
Since the paint used is designed to dye fabric, you will want to make sure you and your child each wear an old t-shirt. (aka: be prepared for colorful splashes!)
If you have any questions about this event, please contact Kimberly directly. Thanks!
